Anybody ever gotten hypnotized?  I think I'm going to get hypnotized to quit smoking this weekend.  I'm so ready to quit.  I haven't bought a pack in over 2 weeks.  Now, I've smoked a little, but nothing compared to what I smoked before.  A month or 2 ago  I signed up online to receive 4 free packs of smokes.  Camel has these new flavors coming out.  They want smokers to smoke 'em and name 'em.  So, two days after I decided I wasn't going to smoke anymore (I had done well for those two days) I get the free cigarettes in the mail.  I broke.  What the hell, I'm getting hypnotized anyway, might as well cheat now with free smokes.  We'll see how this works out.  I'm very hopeful.  Before when I tried to quit, deep down inside I didn't want to, so I was never successful.  But now, I really want to.  Also, Guy hates that I smoke.  It's all in my head.  It's become habit.  So, to subconsiously put in my head that it's a disgusting habit and awful for my health, I think, will do the trick with me.  Wish me luck.  I'll definitely need it.

I just got done reading The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide.  I'm not really into to sci-fi but I really liked this collection, despite it's intimidating length.  It's funny too.  I literally laughed out loud many times.  It's clever.  I like clever.  Good stuff...

I'm over the deer.  I didn't drive for a few days afterward.  When I finally got brave enough to get behind the wheel I felt like I was looking more at the side of the road for deer than I was at the acual road.  Even now, at dusk and dawn I'm constantly scanning for stupid deer.  I now notice more deer carcasses on the road.  And I'm still finding glass....fucking deer.

Since the deer incident I've really been trying to get a new car (not brand new, just new to me) with no avail.  You know, since I messed up my mom's car, I don't want to drive it anymore :)  Anyway, I finally got one yesterday.  Got a '97 Dodge Intrepid.  It's in pretty good shape and drives really well.  It's about damn time!  It only took me a year to replace my dead Cavalier.  Yay!  A new car!!

The other day Guy took me to a jewelry store to get "the" finger sized.  How 'bout that shit?  He's actually serious.  I tried a ring on.  What an experience.  So weird, but strangely nice.  We've even talked about when to bite the bullet.  So weird, but strangely nice.

So I hit a deer this morning.  It came out of nowhere and jumped right into the windsheild (while I was going 70 mph).  It looked like a full grown doe but I can't be sure cause it happened so fast.  What an awful experience.  I don't reccomend it.   It was pretty traumatizing.  The windsheild is obviously toast.  The driver's side mirror is gone.  Can't open the door all the way.  That poor van....But I'm okay, aside from the shock and freaking out.   There's glass everywhere inside the van, even in the back seat.  Little, tiny shards everywhere.  I had glass all over my clothes, on my hands, in my hair, in my mouth.  Fucking deer...

But enough about me, how was your day?

Today Jayson and I went to hear the KC Symphony.  It was my first time hearing them and I liked 'em.  We heard Mozart's first and last symphony.  He wrote his 1st when he was 8 yrs old.  It was pretty damn good for an 8 yr old.  We also heard a Schumann piano concerto.  It was good, but this is the second time in a week I've seen a professional group where the featured soloist used music.  Is it too much to ask to memorize a solo, especially if you're a professional musician?  It's not that hard.  Let me tell you, I don't care how well they play, I'm not standing up if it's not memorized.  Call me a snob, I don't care.

Well, this weekend was fun.  We got really lucky getting in to hear the Planets, that's all I'll say.  The Planets was amazing.  Truly.  I can't count the number of times I got goosebumps, and not because it was cold, this was in Texas.  It was great.  Mars - excellent.  Loud.  You gotta love having 6 horns.  Jupiter - just the way I like.  I've never heard it played this way before, but, to me, it was perfect.  Tempo.  Tempo.  Tempo.  It will make or break it.

I got home 8 hours later than anticipated.  That was not fun.  But I did get to ride in First Class.  No joke.  It was great.  Imagine how good it feels to get on a plane 7 1/2 hours late, sit in First Class, and drink a free whiskey and coke.  Let me tell you, if feels pretty damn good.  Especially at that altitude going on little sleep.

Way to go Cards!  13-5!  My man Pujols hit 2 today.  Watch out.  And welcome back Scotty!  I believe he hit a grand slam.  This could be our year.
